Subiaco Women's Shed is moving into a new home!​

The Subiaco Women’s Shed (SWS) is pleased to announce that it will be operating from 241 Rokeby Road, where it will host a range of activities and events from 1st August 2026. We are grateful to the City of Subiaco for granting a temporary lease over parts of the building while longer-term plans for the site continue to be developed and SWS continues to investigate options for a permanent location.

The mission of the Subiaco Women’s Shed is “to advance mental health and alleviate social isolation for women by providing a physical location where it supports individuals to undertake activities, work on projects and volunteer in the company of others". Since launching in August 2024, SWS has grown steadily and now has 65 members living in the City of Subiaco and surrounding suburbs.

Securing a dedicated short-term site marks an exciting new phase for SWS, enabling us to broaden the range of activities available to members.  Activities are driven by members’ interest and skills and have included introductory woodworking, mosaics, car and bike maintenance, scroll saw sessions and upskilling digital skills, with more ideas in the pipeline. Guest speakers are regularly invited to present talks on wellbeing, health, DIY, environmental topics and more. Members also volunteer in the community and take part in various social events. 

We are now progressing to open up at regular hours for project work, workshops and talks.  The schedule of these will be published on our website and emailed to members.

SWS would like to acknowledge and thank all of its supporters, including the City of Subiaco, local Men’s Sheds, grant providers and in particular Earthwise, who generously provided storage space and a pop-up venue for events while we searched for a dedicated location.
